Season's Meetings
Every family has that one Christmas dinner… and probably a few more than one. 🎄
Tree's up, Santa's been,
the 'rellies' are arguing over dinner.
Comments that Jane's put weight on,
but Sarah's getting thinner.
No-one will pull a cracker with Nan,
too frightened that she'll croak.
Oh Christ! Jack's arrived with his trophy wife,
QUICK! someone tell a joke.
Mum's flapping in the kitchen,
the oven's on the blink.
Aunt Pat's been at the Sherry,
and is puking in the sink.
But eventually they all sit down
and a hush starts to descend.
In that moment, everyone's happy
and they don't want it to end.
